PURPOSE:To prevent a printer head from increasing in size by a method wherein a permanent magnet holding an arm energized by an energizing body at a position ready for printing is supported by an auxiliary coil and a demagnetizing coil for cancelling the flux of the permanent magnet is supported by said auxiliary coil at the initiation of printing. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 6 is cancelled by the excitation of the demagnetizing coil 7 and the auxiliary coil 8 and the arm 3 is revolved by the energizing force of the energizing body 4. Thereby, a print wire 1 is flied in the direction of a print medium C and prints. Immediately after the print wire 1 strikes platen A the auxiliary coil 8 which has been already demagnetized is excited so that it will generate the flux of the same direction as that of the flux of the permanent magnet 8. Accordingly, the arm 3 is attracted rapidly by a magnetic body 5a against the energizing force of the energizing body 4. The printer head is prevented from increasing in size and can speed up printing operation.
