Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable an alkaline earth metal sulfide phosphor to be applied on a cathod-ray tube without gelation and to enable light at high efficiency to be emitted by said phosphor, by using a resin-contg. diazo or bisazide sensitizer.
CONSTITUTION: In forming the phosphor screen of an alkaline earth metal sulfide phosphor on a cathode-ray tube, a bisazide compd. or a diazo compd. sensitizer is added to the alkaline earth metal sulfide phosphor, said sensitizer being prepd. by mixing a bisazide compd. or a diazo compd. with a resin compatible with a crosslinking agent and capable of conducting a crosslinking reaction. In this way, the alkaline earth metal sulfide phosphor is not caused to gel and can be applied on the inner face plate of a cathode-ray tube. Then the coated plate is exposed through a shadow-mask to light. A part which is not sensitized by exposure is subjected to a development treatment to form a phosphor stripe. Then a color receiver is assembled by a conventional method.
