Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a black matrix film which is excellent in terms of both quality and process by exposing annular areas around the circumferences of matrix holes, from the beginning, by use of an annular light source. CONSTITUTION:In forming a black matrix film 1, at first, a light-tackified film is formed on the inner wall of a panel by applying a matter which becomes tacky when exposed to light. Next, thus formed light-tackified film is exposed to light through a shadow mask so as to make part of the film excepting matrix holes 2a, 2b and 2c to have a tackiness, and impalpable powder of a light-absorbing matter is made to adhere to the film. Following that, part of the film corresponding to the matrix hole 2a of a first color is tackified by being exposed to light through a shadow mask, and a green phosphor used for the first color is made to adhere to thus tackified part so as to form a green-phosphor picture element. After that, a black matrix fluorescent screen having picture elements of three differently colored phosphors is obtained by repeatedly carrying out similar processes to above with a second and a third color.
