Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a high quality prepreg under a stable condition, by treating a substrate, onto which a high conc. resin liquid was applied, with a wet heat to impregnate the substrate with the resin liquid, and drying the resin-impregnated substrate with a radiation heat.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate 101, onto which a conc. resin liquid 13 was applied, is carried into a wet heat treating chamber 2, where a wet heat treatment using water vapor is done to accelerate the penetration of the resin liquid 13 into the substrate 101. The resin-impregnated substrate 103 discharged from the wet heat treating chamber 2 is carried into a radiation drying chamber 3, where the substrate 103 is dried with a radiation heat to remove water content penetrating into the substrate during the wet heat treatment and to cure the resin. Consequently, a high quality prepregnate can be produced under a stable condition.
