Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the space for installation of the titled heater and to reduce heat loss by a method wherein a plurality of reflecting pipes are arranged in such a manner that the top ends of the reflecting pipes come to lie adjacent the focusing points of convex lenses subject to sunlight and the opposite ends of the pipes communicate with a heat radiating chamber in a heat exchange tank arranged within a hot water tank. CONSTITUTION:The straight reflecting pipes 8 whose inner peripheral surfaces form mirrors 6 and whose outer peripheral surfaces are coated with heat insulating films 7, respectively, are arranged in such a manner that the upper ends 9 of the pipes 8 come to lie adjacent the focusing points of the convex lenses 5 subject to sunlight. At the same time, a heat exchange tank 14 provided with a heat radiating chamber 13 is arranged within the hot water tank 10. The peripheral wall 11 of the heat exchange tank 14 is corrugated so that the inner surface of the wall forms a convex-concave heat receiving surface 12. Further, the lower ends of the reflecting pipes 8 are passed through the peripheral wall 15 of the hot water tank 10 and the peripheral wall 11 of the heat exchange tank 14 so as to communicate with the heat radiating chamber 13 and the top end of each of the reflecting pipes 8 is covered with a transparent glass plate 16. With the above structure, it is possible to miniaturize the entire heater to thereby minimize the space for installation of the heater and to reduce its heat loss.
