Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesiveness between a galvanic anode made of Zn metal and mounting bolts in casting said anode by making said bolts of a Zn alloy of specific compsn. in the case of embedding the bolts by casting simultaneously in said anode.
CONSTITUTION: In the stage of die casting a galvanic anode for electrolytic protection by using Zn and a Zn alloy, the head parts of mounting bolts are embedded by casting simultaneously in said anode. In this case, the galvanic anode is small in size and therefore, the heat capacity of the molten Zn alloy for the galvanic anode is small and the bolts to be cast therein simultaneously fail to be thoroughly melt stuck. This results in degraded adhesiveness, between both, hence infiltration of sea water or the like through the contact surface of both, thus corroding these surfaces and degrading the function as a galvanic anode owing to the defective conductivity. In order to prevent these, the mounting bolts are made or a Zn alloy contg. 0.01W0.05% Al, 0.05W0.5% Ti, and 0.05W 0.2% Cu, and high tension mounting bolts having high adhesiveness to the galvanic anode are produced.
