NEW MATERIAL:A Δ2-1,2,4-triazolin-5-one expressed by formulaI(X is halogen; R1 is alkyl; Y is H, alkyloxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, halomethyloxy, haloethyloxy, alkyloxycarbonyloxyalkyloxy or phenylalkyloxy; R2 is H, alkyl, halomehyl or haloethyl).
EXAMPLE: 1-( 2-Fluoro-4-chlorophenyl )-3-methyl-4-difluoromethyl-Δ2-1, 2, 4-trizolin- 5-one.
USE: A herbicide.
PROCESS: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by the formula R2Z (Z is Cl, Br orIor R2Z is haloethylene) to give one of the compounds expressed by formulaI.
