Abstract

PURPOSE:A long-life grease composition excellent in lubricating properties at a high temp. under a feavy load, which is prepd. by compounding calcium salt of a specified org. compd. as a thickening agent with a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:Calcium salt of an aliph. dibasic acid of the formula HOOC (CH2)n COOH (wherein n is 4-18) such as adipic or pimelic acid is mixed with calcium salt of an N-alkyl-substd. monoamide acid of the formula RNHOC (CH2)n COOH (wherein R is 12-20C alkyl; n is 4-18) such as N-dodecyladipamic acid in a mol ratio of about 0.3-5:1 and about 5-40wt% resulting mixture is added as a thickening agent to a lubricating oil such as refined mineral oil or dioctyl sebacate oil.
