Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dust precipitation effect of high electric resistance dust without causing reverse electrloytic dissociation phenomena in the stage of removing dust in waste gases with an electrical dust precipitator by blowing liquid of small electric resistance in the form of mist droplets into the waste gases.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gases of combustion contg. fine dust of extremely high electric resistance values is introduced through an inlet duct 1 of an electrical dust precipitator disposing many dust precipitation electrodes 4 and discharge electrodes 5 and is flowed through a flow rectifying plate 3. At this time, liquid of small electric resistance values such as sulfuric acid is sprayed from a sprayer 6 provided in the duct 1. The surfaces of the dust in the waste gases are coated with films of sulfuric acid, whereby the generation of reverse electrolytic dissociation phenomena in the dust adsorbed on the electrodes 4 is obviated and the degradation in dust precipitation efficiency is prevented.
