Then the sputter etching is applied to obtain a prescribed depth for the gap. After this, the material 5 is removed, and ferrite 6 having a flat gap worked area is fixed to the material 4. Then a glass bar 7 is melted to fill the gap area. At the same time, the material 4 is adhered to the material 6. The block of the ferrite material with which the adhesion is through is cut into the chip size, and the surface of head is polished into a spherical or cylindrical form. Then a coil is attached to complete a magnetic head.
