Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the unnecessary operation of the pump and contrive to save the consumption of electric power by a constitution wherein the fuel pump is stopped when a condition in which a fuel consumption rate at engine side is small and the supply of the fuel is not necessitated is detected by a detector. CONSTITUTION:The movement of a float 9, moving up-and-down in a float chamber 3, is utilized to detect the condition in which the amount of the fuel consumption at the engine side is small and the supply of the fuel is not necessitated. A permanent magnet 13 is provided on the upper surface of the float 9 while a Hall element 12 is provided on a casing 8 opposing to said magnet 13, and a transistor 14 is put ON to drive the fuel pump 1 when the float 9 is decended and the magnet 13 is separated from the Hall element 12. On the other hand, when the supply of the fuel is not necessitated and the float 9 is elevated to approach the magnet 13 to the Hall element 12, the transistor 14 is brought into the condition of OFF and electric supply to the fuel pump 1 is cut off.
