Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to evalute powderiness of a galvanized steel plate by bending a test piece by 180 deg. and sticking a piece of cellophane tape to the outside of a work part, thereafter peeling it off, thus determining the quantity of zinc powder stuck to the surface of tape. CONSTITUTION:A specified load is applied to a test piece of a strip shape using a vise and a press and bent at 80 deg. so that it may become a right angle against the its rolling direction. Without bending back, a piece of cellophane tape is stuck directly to the outside of a work part, and the tape is peeled off after rubbing it. This tape is stuck to a clear cold rolled steel plate, and the quantity of the zinc powder stuck to the tape surface is determined by a fluorescent X-ray device. Then, the powderiness is found out from this fluorescent intensity and a measuring line that is prepared by applying a known quantity of the object of analysis for known density to the surface of a steel plate. Therefore, comparing with the qualitative numerical value determined by naked eye, it makes far precise and quantitative decision possible.
