Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve strength of a rotary shaft, by a method wherein a middle part of a rotary shaft for an agitating vane in a titled device is supported by a movable intermediate bearing member. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 5 has a plural number of intermediate shaft bearing members 17 at a middle part. If the rotary shaft 5 is lengthened, the workable length is determined by a distance between an external load and a bearing supporting the rotary shaft 5. The rotary shaft 5 with a total length l, in which bearings 17 are located at intervals of 1/2 l, endures a buckling load, being 4 times as high as the endurable buckling load of the rotary shaft with no bearing. In case the rotary shaft 5 is inserted, the intermediate bearing member 17 is moved upward by a lifting device for hanging cables 18a with the downward movement of the rotary shaft 5.
