Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a locker arm free from curb of strength by inserting a reinforcing tube longer than the supporting part and then pressing the raw material tube at the necessary part, to increase the thickness of a supporting part which is formed at a necessary place of a raw material tube. CONSTITUTION:Reinforcing tubes 2 a little bit longer than supporting parts to be formed are inserted into a raw material tube 1 to necessary places, and then the reinforcing tubes 2 ar fixed by an adhesive or spot welding upon occasion. The raw material tube 1 is pressed with upper and lower dieces 3 and 4 having necessary shapes to shape the tube 1 at the necessary places together with the inserted reinforcing tubes 2, thus forming parallel surfaces 1a and 1a where a locker arm is fitted and supported. Consequently, the reinforcing tubes 2 are made into one in contact with the internal surface of the raw material tube 1, and their end parts 2a and 2a are both projecting slightly from both the ends of parallel surfaces 1a and 1a in the axial direction. Therefore, even when the thickness of the tube 1 is small, the thickness of the locker arm supporting part is increased sufficiently.
