Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an abrupt rise of the rotation of a fan immediately after the start of engine in a thermosensitive fan coupling device using fluid, which is suitable to be used as a fan for cooling internal combustion engine, by checking the oil in an oil sump from flowing out to the torque transmission chamber side naturally at the time of out of rotation by means of provision of a partition wall having a groove. CONSTITUTION:The sealed inside of a thermosensitive fan coupling device using fluid composed of a cover 3 and a case 2 provided with fan fixing bolt holes 18, 18' is divided into an oil sump 6 and a transmission chamber 4 with a partition plate 5. In this oil sump 6, a valve member 8 is fitted working in compliance with the action of a thermosensitive substance 10, and a driving disc 7 is installed in said torque transmission chamber 4. In this arrangement, a partition wall 16 having a feed hole 15 is interposed and fixed between the partition plate 5 and the mating wall surface to it in the driving disc 7. The feed hole 15 and the outflowing adjustment hole 5' on the plate 5 are so arranged that either of them shall be situated on the oil surface in the oil sump 6 however the rotational stopping condition is. The mating surface of the partition wall 6 to the plate 5 is provided with a groove which shall connect the hole 5' with the one 15.
