Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve check and maintenance for controller, by completely separating the controller from a plant side at failure and maintenance of the controller through the provision of a changeover switch at the input and output section of the controller and connecting an external inspection device. CONSTITUTION:An input and output sections 11 and 12 of an automatic controller 102 are provided with on-line-off-line switching parts 11 and 12 and the switching parts 11 and 12 are at on-line mode during the normal operation of the device 102, the plant information 101 is operated at the device 102 to output a control signal 103. The signal 103 is given to an operation terminal 104 through an automatic/manual switching section 107. If the device 102 is in failure, the switch 107 is set to the manual position and the output of a manual backup device 105 is given to the operation terminal 104. In this case, the switches 11 and 12 are set to the off-line mode and a maintenance tool 7 is connected. Thus, the device 102 is checked by a signal from the tool 7.
