Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a pitch fiver bundle from being broken, by winding off the pitch fiber bundle from a bobbin which is set on a paying-out device and rotated at a slow speed after the pitch fiber bundle is wound up on the bobbin so that the pitch fiber bundle is carried at a slow speed on an under conveyor belt for carrying it to an unmelt treating region. CONSTITUTION:A pitch fiber bundle which is once wound up onto a bobbin 3 is transferred to a paying-out device 19 and then is paid out onto a conveyor belt 25 for feeding the pitch fiber bundle to an unmelt treating region. That is, each grooved winding bobbin 3 inserted onto each motor shaft is rotated at a slow speed in the direction of winding off, and the pitch fiber bundles P fall at a low speed to the degree that they are allowed to fall mainly under their weight. An air sucker 30 above the conveyor belt 25 has suction force to the degree that prevents the paid-out pitch fiber bundles from being rewound up onto the rotating bobbins, and also has its lower end flared such that fluid flow is retarded for preventing the pitch fiber bundle from impinging upon the conveyor belt 25.
