Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the use of an ultrasonic flaw detector in a narrow space of either part of the straight and curved pipes, by mounting detachably a turntable containing an ultrasonic probe, a mobile table, a flaw detecting position detector, etc. to a fixed ring at a desired position on the outer circumference of a pipe. CONSTITUTION:A fixed ring 3 is attached in a detachable way to a desired position on the outer circumference of a pipe 2 and in the axial line direction, and a gear 4 is attached to the outer circumference of the ring 3. Turn table 5 turns freely around the ring 3 concentriclly to the pipe 2 after engaging the gear 4. A mobile table 7 is fixed at a tip of a driving shaft 6 which has a linear shift toward the axial line of the pipe 2 and supported by the table 5. In such a way, a rack elements are formed. An ultrasonic probe 8 is fixed at the supporting point, i.e., the tip of the opposite side of an arm 9 which is supported rotatably by the table 7 within a plane including the axial line of the pipe 2. The probing surface A of the probe 8 is always pressed to the outer circumference surface of the pipe 2 by a link 11 coupled to an air cylinder 10 which fixed to the shaft 6.
