Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute an analysis of a defect for a pipe body at a high accuracy in real time, by constructing a portion other than a drive section frame in a double split type to automatize a flaw detection work irrelevant to an existing piping function. CONSTITUTION:A double split type rotary housing 2 is provided with a contact 1 and is arranged to be movable sideways on a guide rod 4 set parallel with the axis of a pipe body P and both ends of the rod 4 are connected separately to a double split type rotor 3. In a double split type clamp 6 in which a double split type ring-shaped holder 8 is mounted grasping a circumferential surface of the pipe body P, right and left rotors 3 and 3' are combined rotatably along a circular guide 16 of each piece of clamp 6 and a drive section frame 17 is supported on each piece of clamp 6 and a rotary drive section 10 of the rotor 3, a rotary detection mechanism 15 thereof, a transverse drive section 9 of the housing 2 and a lateral position detecting mechanism 14 thereof are provided on the frame 17. Thus, the probe 1 is moved at a specified speed and pitch in the circumferential and axial directions of the pipe body P thereby enabling highly accurate analysis of a flaw detection data.
