Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the range of retrieval, by returning a signal modulating a mark rate or pulse polarity of a reverse transmission line to a terminal station with a retrieval information signal picked up with a band pass filter connected to a repeater. CONSTITUTION:A retrieval code is outputted to a line from a terminal station A. A repeater 7 identifies a reception signal at a discriminating circuit 9. In this case, if no modulation signal is given to a terminal 18, the output of the circuit 9 is reproduced. A retrieval code train is picked up at a flip-flop from this reproduced output. This signal is applied to a modulation input terminal 16 of a descending repeater. As a result, an exclusive logical sum of the retrieval code train outputted from terminal stations B and A is obtained. This code train is returned to the terminal station A. The terminal station A monitors the frequency component of the code train returend at a reception section 42 and finds out a failure of the repeater.
