Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumptin of an A-D converter, by providing a switch which detects the operation of the A-D converter and switches power supply. CONSTITUTION:An A-D converter 1 receives an analog data (a) from a temperature detecting circuit 2 consisting of a resistor R1 and a thermister RX and a reference voltage (b) from a reference voltage generating circuit 4 consisiting of resistors R2-R4 and a Zener diode 3. A switch element 11 is inserted to a supply path for a power supply VB for the circuits 2 and 4. The switch element 11 is controlled with a detection signal (g) indicating the opertion of the A-D converter 1. When a conversion start signal (d) is inputted, the operation detection signal (g) is at a low level and the switch element 11 turns on. Thus, the power supply is given to the circuits 2 and 4 to obtain a conversion digital output (c). The signal (g) is at high level at the end of conversion and the switch element 11 turns off to stop the supply of the power. Thus, the power consumption can be made less.
