Abstract

PURPOSE:To plan to increase the speed of ignition and transfer to a stable combustion and elongate the life thereof by a method wherein an auxiliary wick for ignition, being moved upwardly and downwardly independently of a wick, is provided substantially around the whole periphery of the wick for the wick vaporizing type liquid fuel combustor. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary wick 5, being moved upwardly and downwardly independently of the main wick 1, is provided substantially around the whole periphery of the main wick 1. With this constitution, an auxiliary wick lever 13 is rotated into an arrow sign direction (b) by the operation of an ignition lever 11 into the arrow sign direction (a) and pushes up the auxiliary wick 5 into the arrow sign direction (c) through a supporter 12. Simultaneously, an outer tube 4 is opened through the movement of a shutter shaft 14 in the direction of (d) and the pivoting of a shutter 15 in the direction of (e) and thereby exposing an ignition port. A heater lever 17 is also pushed down into the direction of (f) while the heater 18 is moved to the direction of (g) thereby igniting the auxiliary wick 5. When the main wick 1 is ignited by these actions and the combustion is stabilized, the lever 11 is released and thereby returning related parts to the initial conditions thereof by the force of a spring 20 and pushing down the auxiliary wick 5. According to this method, the speed of the ignition and the transfer of the combustion into the stable combustion may be increased and the elongation of the life may be planned.
