Abstract
PURPOSE: To utilize solar heat cyclically and to improve the utilization rate thereof by connecting the space of an evaporating chamber and a condensing chamber with a wide area, placing a sea water tank on the condensing chamber, and providing many long bar-like heat conductive bodies between the condensing chamber and the sea water tank.
CONSTITUTION: The spaces of an evaporating chamber 2 and a condensing chamber 3 are connected at an opening 7 of a wide area, and the steam 8 produced in the chamber 2 enters the chamber 3. Many heat conductive bodies 4 consisting of bars or pipes of good heat conductors are provided vertically by penetrating through the bottom 1e of the tank 1, and the end parts thereof have the length of about the sea water level in the tank 1 and the sufficient length so as to extend to the lower part of the chamber 3 in said chamber. The steam 8 entering the chamber 3 from the chamber 2 is cooled by the sea water 50 of the tank 1, and condenses on the surface of the bodies 4, thereby forming fresh water 9. The latent heat turned to sensible heat by condensation is transmitted through the bodies 4, thereby warming the sea water 50 in the tank 1.
