Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst of high activity, high selectivity and along life by depositing oxide or hydroxide of nickel on a carrier of oxide or hydroxide of copper, zinc, etc. as a catalyst for modification of methanol. CONSTITUTION:Oxide or hydroxide of copper and/or zinc and chromium is used as a carrier and oxide or hydroxide of nickel is deposited thereon as a catalyst for modification of methanol. The catalyst obtd. in this way has high activity and excellent selectivity, and since there is no deposition of carbon, it has a long life.
