Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent low acidic foods from becoming rotten or denatured even by long-term storage of canned provisions at room temperature, by subjecting them to sterilization treatment of retort heating, and to prevent the frozen strain of thin cans, by making the can in positive pressure by a nitrogen gas.
CONSTITUTION: The thin cans 1 are placed on the conveyor 4, sent, and charged with the low acidic foods 6 by the filler 5 with leaving the heads spaces 3. A given amount of the liquid nitrogen 8 is then fed from the nozzle 7a to the cans. The thin cans 1 with the covers 2 set are directly sent to the double seaming device 9, and sealed with the covers 2 to give the sealed cans. The sealed cans 10 are then sent to a retort device.
