Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure easily the insulation resistance of a field wind ing during operation as well by applying DC through a field winding and detecting each of leaking currents between the positive sides of the field voltage, field current, and field winding and the earth. CONSTITUTION:A closed circuit is formed by the insulation resistor and drop position X an insulation resistor 3-earth-a leak current detector 7-a changeover switch 6-the positive terminal of a field winding 1-the insulation resistance drop position X, the circuit voltage of which is the voltage E1 between the insulation resistance dropping position X of the field winding 1 and the positive terminal upon throwing in a change-over switch 6 to the positive side of the field winding, and leakage current I01 that flows in this closed circuit is detected. Next, the change-over switch 6 is thrown in to the negative side of the field winding and leakage current I02 is detected in the same way. Each of leakage currents I01 and I02 and the outputs of a field voltage detector 4 and a field current detector 5 are input to a calculator 9 through an input device 8, and the value Rm of the insulation resistor 3 and each of the resistance values between the insulation resistance dropping position X of the field winding and the terminal on the positive side and between the position X and the terminal on the negative side are calculated.
