Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent overrevolution of an engine effectively with a small number of part items, in an ignition device of the internal combustion engine for power of a portable tool, by utilizing a photocoupler when the device is controlled with voltage of timing to be controlled and reverse voltage. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 14 is charged through a diode and resistor 11 to increase potential at a point C in a period when voltage across x-y of a primary winding 2 in an ignition coil 1 built in a magneto becomes positive at a point y. If voltage at a point x becomes positive, an electric charge of the capacitor 14 flows in a light emitting diode 12, and this light turns on a phototransistor 16, and voltage division ratio is changed by a divider resistor 7 to decrease applied voltage to a thyristor 5. As an electric discharge goes on, light is not emitted from the light emitting diode 12, and the thyristor 5 is turned on to perform ignition. Now if speed of an engine increases, higher reverse voltage is generated from the ignition coil 1, and potential of the capacitor 14 is also increased to extend a light emitting period, then a delay of ignition timing is increased to prevent overrevolution.
