Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the utilization rate of ultraviolet rays, and improve the light output of a fluorescent lamp by coating the inner wall of the lamp with a triple film consisting of a first film made of a phosphor, a second and a third film made of silicon dioxide with specified mean grain diameters. CONSTITUTION:A silicon-dioxide slurry having mean grain diameter below 1/30 time that of the phosphor of a first film 4 is applied to the inner wall of a bulb 1, and is dried so as to form a third film 2. Next, a silicon-dioxide slurry having a mean grain diameter 8 to 30 times that of the phosphor of the first film 4 is applied on the third film 2, and is dried so as to form a second film 3. After that, a phosphor slurry is applied on the second film 3, and nitrocellulose is scattered by drying and heating the inner wall of the bulb 1 coated with the phosphor slurry so as to form the first film 4, thus a triple film is obtained. As a result, the utilization rate of ultraviolet rays can be increased, and the light output can be improved.
