Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the number of elements in a vertical direction approximately while obtaining line correlation, by providing a register part for applying charge in parallel, and a writing part for applying charge in series to the register part. CONSTITUTION:An NTSC standard television signal is applied to an input terminal 30 and during one horizontal period, a signal for one scanning line is stored in the form of the amount of charge in a register part 32 through a writing part 31, and transferred vertically in parallel to the 1st charge transfer element group 1. The 1st charge transfer element group 1 consists of about 256 elements vertically, and charge stored in the 1st charge transfer element group 1 is transferred as shown by an arrow and stored in the 2nd charge transfer element group 2 during a vertical blanking period. The transfer from the 2nd charge transfer element group 2 to the register part 3 is performed once during two horizontal periods by a television system for double scanning lines and this transfer is carried out during a horizontal blanking period.
