Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent offset phenomenon in heat fixing, by using a binder resin >=60wt% styrene-butadiene copolymer having >=20wt.average mol.wt. Mw/ no.average mol.wt.Mn ratio. CONSTITUTION:A binder to be used for an electrostaitic image developing toner contains >=60wt% styrene-butadiene copolymer having 200,000-1.5million wt. average mol.wt. and >=20wt.average mol.wt. Mw/no.average mol.wt. Mn ratio. The styrene content of a said copolymer is 70-98wt%. In addition to said copolymer, polystyrene, a styrene-acrylic copolymer, and the like resin are combined to prepare the toner, thus permitting the obtained toner to have 130- 150 deg.C minimum fixing temperature lower than >=200 deg.C offset phenomenon-causing temperature, favorable pulverizability, fluidity, and triboelectricity, and further long life.
