Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a nonagglomerating toner high in fluidity and not causing sticking to a fixing roller and offset phenomenon, by using a styrene-butadiene copolymer as the principal component of a binder and specifying the molecular weight and the contents of a high molecular component in this copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A toner contains in a binder resin, >=60wt% styrene-butadiene copolymer containing >=20wt% the part having a molecular wt. of >=100,000 and <=15wt% the part having a molecular wt. of >=500,000, and 70-98wt% styrene component. In addition of this copolymer resin, polystyrene, a styrene- acrylic copolymer resin, etc. are combined to form a binder, thus permitting a toner obtained to have good fixing performance at a temperature sufficiently lower than an about >=200 deg.C offset phenomenon-causting temperature.
