Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate blowing-in by burning the coke substituted with part of the infurnace residues in the lower part of a tuyere while feeding the air used for heating said coke to the furnace bottom through a blast pipe thereby heating the bottom part of the furnace quickly and forming a good molten metal well part. CONSTITUTION:After the relining of a furnace body is finished by cooling the inside of a blast furnace, a steel sheet pile wall 16 is formed in the position leaving a required distance from the furnace wall 2 of the infurnace residues 6 in the lower part of a tuyere 4, and the residues 6 between the wall 2 and the wall 16 are removed by excavation, then, a blast pipe 18 is mounted through the tuyere 4 down to near a tap hole 12 in the furnace bottom part. The pipe 18 is made by applying castable linings on the inside and outside of a steel pipe in order to prevent erosion during elevation of heat. Then, coke 14 is packed up to an original stock line 10 in the excavated space, and high temp. air of about 300-900 deg.C is fed through the pipe 18 to burn the coke 14.
