Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain always stable arc starting by releasing the controlling for stabilization of the arc starting when the next welding is to be started before the lapse of the prescribed time after completion of the welding before the previous one. CONSTITUTION:Welding is started at the point of time t1. The wire feed speed of that time is set at a low speed S1, and the output voltage is set at a high voltage V1, then the controlling for stabilization of the arc starting time is effected. At the point of time t2 when the arc is generated, these are changed over respectively to a set voltage V2 and a set speed S2 and the controlling is accomplished. When the time since the point of time t3 when the welding ends till the point of time t4 of the next arc starting is within a prescribed time (about 0.5sec), namely, while the leading end of a wire is still in a high temp. state, the controlling for stabilization such as wire shown down controlling and hot start controlling are not carried out. Then, the burning of the wire and the defective formation of a molten pool at the arc starting are eliminated and the efficiency of welding work is improved.
