Abstract
PURPOSE: To remarkably enhance filthy water-purifying efficiency, by letting filthy water flow from one end to the other end of a catalytic aeration vessel, supplying bulky bubbles into filtering materials at the upstream side, and reducing the size of the bubbles and the feed amount of the bubbles toward the downstream side.
CONSTITUTION: When filthy water is let flow through an inflow opening 11, biomembranes adhere to and grow in filtering materials 5 for adhesion of the biomembranes. The biomembranes have larger fertility at a part near a filthy water-inflow line 8 and reduce their thickness and volume toward an outflow line 9. Consequently, an oxygen-demand rate is larger at the upstream side and becomes smaller toward the downstream side. When a jet stream injector 10 is driven under this condition, bulky bubbles, effective in supply of a large amount of oxygen, are formed at the upstream side. The size of the bubbles becomes smaller toward the downstream side, so that the oxygen-feed rate becomes smaller. Since oxygen-feed distribution corresponds to the growth distribution of the biomembranes, oxygen is effectively consumed with high purifying efficiency.
