Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve volume coefficient simultaneously with simplified construction of a device, by exchanging hydrogen through two kinds of the above described metal hydrates, filling the metal hydrates in a same reaction vessel through a hydrogen permeable diaphragm and eliminating the necessity for a heat exchanger between the metal hydrates with each other. CONSTITUTION:Reaction vessels 2a, 2b, at a face-to-face position, are provided in a hot vessel 1, and a meandering hot flow path 5 is formed between the vessels 2a, 2b. The reaction vessel 2 is divided into chambers 4a, 4b by a diaphragm 3, not permeable for metal hydrate but permeable for hydrogen, and filled with respectively two kinds of metal hydrates M1H, M2H. Further the hot flow path 5 is divided into flow paths 5a, 5b by a partition 6 correspondingly to these chambers 4a, 4b. In this constitution, reaction heat of formation between the chambers 4a, 4b is uniformly transmitted respectively to heating and cooling mediums with a wall side of the vessel 2 as the heat transfer surface.
