Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A phenoxyalkylamide expressed by formulaI(R1 and R2 are lower alkyl or may form a 4-W8-membered heterocyclic ring containing nitrogen together with N to which they are linked which may have a substituent group, e.g. OH; R3 is H or lower alkyl; R4 is H or 1W12C hydrocarbon, etc. which may have a substituent group; n is an integer 2W6; the group expressed by formula VI is linked to the m- or p-position to the aminoalkyl group) and a salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 2'-Methyl-4-(3-dimethylaminomethylphenoxy)butanoic acid hydrazide.
USE: An antiulcer agent having improved inhibitory action on the gastric acid secretion due to the histaminic H2 receptor antagonistic action.
PROCESS: A phenolic derivative expressed by formula II is reacted with a carboxylic ester expressed by formula III (A is halogen, etc.) to give a compound expressed by formula IV, which is then amidated with an amine expressed by formula V to afford the aimed compound expressed by formulaI.
