Abstract

PURPOSE:To put pages effectively in order by feeding sheet originals again after copying operation by selectively switching a mode in which the sheet originals are discharged automatically after image forming operation and a mode in which an original conveying belt is put in successive feeding operation without operating an optical system. CONSTITUTION:A sheet original is placed on a tray 1 and then inserted between a pickup roller 3 and a paper feed roller 4. Then, a detection sensor 11 senses the original and a driving roller 13 rotates, starting the coneyance of the original a certain time later. A detection sensor 12 detects the front edge of the original, which is sent in between an entire-surface belt 15 and platen glass 47; and a detection sensor 11 detects the rear edge of the original and when the original is discharged, the roller 3 moves up. Then when the detection sensor 12 detects the front edge of the paper, the belt 15 stops and the original stops at a prescibed position of a platen 47. Then, copying operation starts and the original is discharged onto a tray 23 through discharging rollers 20 and 21 by a copying end signal. A necessary mode is selected with a mode changeover switch.
