Abstract

PURPOSE:In a firing spark discharge circuit for an internal combustion engine or a gas burner, to improve the firing performance by making the value of an impedance element sufficiently high with respect to the output impedance of a high voltage generator. CONSTITUTION:The charge in a large capacity capacitor 7 due to an oscillation booster 1, is quickly charged to a primary capacitor 2 through a switching element 8, then spark discharged at a spark plug 5 through a pulse generating circuit 12, switching element 3 and a spark coil. Said spark discharge is performed through each impedance elements 53, 54 and parallel discharge gaps 51, 52 but since the output impedance of the spark coil 4 is 1/10 of those of said elements 53, 54, the voltage drop of the discharge gap where there is no spark discharge will be 1/10 even when the spark discharge is produced previously at any one of the gaps, thereby the reliable discharge is assured.
