Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively convert head wind and cross wind by means of propulsive force in such a way that shaft rods are arranged at both left and right end parts of the sail body, and the auxiliary sails are pivotally fixed on these shaft rods. CONSTITUTION:Left and right auxiliary sails 3a, 3b are respectively pivotally fixed on shaft rods 2a, 2b. In consequence, when either left or right of these auxiliary sails 3a, 3b, or the both auxiliary sails are turned, and they are developed to a lateral of the sail body 1, clearance (A) in the longitudinal direction can be formed between the outer edge of an end part of the sail body 1 and lat eral edges of the auxiliary sails 3 are fixed on the shafts, and at the time of developing the auxiliary sails, air through the clearance (A) can be flowed in to the ngative pressure side (back side). Therefore, wind energy can be blown in to interface on the negative pressure side of the auxiliary sails, air flow is prevented from diverging, and lift of the whole sails can be improved.
