Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent leak of the engine sound by forming a projection at the edge of a sheet type adsorbing material along the surfaces of the panel. CONSTITUTION:The top of the periphery of an engine room is shut off from gaps 20 by interposing an inclined 511 and a vertical 512 surface 511 of projection 51 of the adsorbing material and a gap between them filled wirh air. The engine sound is thus absorbed and shut out. Because the gap 50 is comparatively long, the engine sound is damped while passing through it. Projections 51 of sound absorbing material 5 between the front edge of engine hood 1 and the radiator upper 4 and between the rear edge of engine hood 1 and the coul upper 3 constituted also sound absorbing and sutting construction. Thus leak of engine sound to outside the car can be greatly reduced.
