Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the frame installation process by mounting brackets at both sides of a frame provided at the rear surface of the roof panel and fixing this frame by screws to a roof side rail for reinforcement of the car body through said brackets.
CONSTITUTION: A frame 4 arranged so as to cover the rear surface of a roof panel 1 is composed of a bottom surface 23 having a width a little larger than the dimension of the opening 2 in the roof panel in the transverse direction of the car and a side face part 24 formed at the periphery of the same, and formed into a box. A flange 6 projects outward from the upper edge of this side face part 24 of the frame 4, and the oversurface of this flange is lined with sealing rubber 26 covering the whole length of the side face part 24. Two or more brackets 27 are arranged at both sides of the frame 4, which shall be welded firmly at the welding faces 28 of the brackets, while the projections 29 are fixed to brackets 31 mounted on the roof side panel 8 with bolts 33 and nuts 34.
