Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent leak of fuel when the car is turned sideways by introducing the fuel vapor pipe a full turn around the tank in directions perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the car, and from the end of a full turn, further extending the pipe down beneath the bottom of the tank, thus positioning a part of the vapor pipe above and rear of the vapor space in the tank when the car is accidentally turned sideways. CONSTITUTION:The fuel vapor pipe 2 is introduced from above the tank 1 and takes a full turn around the tank in directions normal to the longitudinal axis of the car, and simultaneously a backward displacement. At the vack of the tank, the pipe is then brought down beyond the bottom of the tank 1 and then introduced to the front direction. When the car is turned sideways or no matter in what position, a part of the vapor pipe 2 is always located above the vapor space of the tank 2 so that the fuel is held within the vapor pipe 2. The fuel will not flow out even when the car stands on its head. Thus, a continuous leak of fuel is prevented at the time of a car accident and the car is protected from catching a fire.
