Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a speed control valve in a structure having a simple form of fluid passages, easy to assemble and capable of effecting accurate control, by using a flexible diaphragm which is supported by a cap member having projections. CONSTITUTION:In case that air flows in a direction A shown in the drawing, a flexible diaphragm 10 is closed and a large gap is formed between the diaphragm 10 and the wall surface of a fluid passage 2, so that air introduced into the fluid passage 2 from communicating ports 9 is allowed to flow into a pipe joint 5 freely through a communicating passage 4. Here, the air flow is regulated by the function of projections 11 and the gap between the diaphragm 10 and the wall surface of the fluid passage 2 is maintained positively. In case that air flows in a direction B, on the other hand, a cone of the diaphragm 10 is opened and their marginal portions and end portions near the marginal portions are urged into contact with the wall surface of the fluid passage 2, so that air is made to flow through the fluid passage 2 from the passage 4 toward communicating ports 9 at a flow rate controlled by a needle 16 having a required depth of insertion and the width of the gap between the needle 16 and the inner wall surface of a cylindrical support member 6 into which the needle 16 is inserted.
