Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a practical recording density and prevent the degradation of the characteristic, by making relative speeds of a recording signal converting element and a disc-shaped recording medium constant in the outside circumferential part and the inside circumferential part of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The signal of a frequency proportional to the number of rotations of a turntable motor 4 which rotates a disc 1 is inputted to a frequency multiplier 6 through a rotation detector 5. The output of a rotation reference generator 10 and the output of the frequency multiplier 6 are compared in phase with each other by a comparator 11, and the error output is supplied to the turntable motor 4 through a motor driving circuit 12. A signal converting element 2 is connected to a feed screw 13 and is driven through a reduction gear 14 by a feed motor 15. The output of a rotation detector 16 of the feed motor 15 and the output of the rotation detector 5 are compared in phase with each other by a comparator 17, and the error output is supplied to the feed motor 15 through a motor driving circuit 18. By this constitution, an accurate CLV (recording in constant relative speed) recording is performed, and the degradation of the characteristic in the inside circumferential part is prevented.
