Abstract
PURPOSE:To set a winding, which is wound around a head core, to a high impedance suitable for reproducing and to set the winding to a low impedance suitable for recording by providing an intermediate terminal in the halfway position of the winding. CONSTITUTION:A winding 12 is wound around a head core 11 where a pair of channel-shaped cores 11a are abutted to each other, and the impedance is set to a high value so that the reproducing characteristics as a reproducing head are optimum. A common terminal 13 is provided in one end of the winding 12, and a reproducing terminal 14 is provided in the other end. In case that this head core 11 is used as a recording head, an intermediate terminal 15 is provided in the halfway position of the winding 12 so that the winding 12 is set to a low impedance where the recording characteristics are optimum. Thus, since an optimum impedance is set for reproducing or recording, an applied voltage is restrained low for recording to improve the recording characteristics, and a reproducing output is enlarged for reproducing to improve the reproducing characteristics.
