Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly perform the transfer between the tracks of a magnetic head at a short period by a method wherein 1-2 phase exciting drive is applied to a pulse motor in starting and stopping the transfer of the head and two-phase exciting drive is also applied to the pulse motor. CONSTITUTION:When a track transfer command signal S is supplied to a control section 10, the control section 10 judges the transferring distance of a magnetic head 2 and controls a pulse driving circuit 11 based on the transferring distance to firstly apply 1-2 phase exiciting drive to a pulse motor 4. When the magnetic head 2 is started, next, two-phase exciting drive is applied to the pulse motor 4. The magnetic head 2 is moved by the two-phase exciting drive is applied to the pulse motor 4. The magnetic head 2 is moved by the two-phase drive at high speed. When the magnetic head 2 approaches a stopping required information record track 1a, the 1-2 phase exiciting drive is again applied to the pulse motor 4 and the magnetic head 2 slowly moves and the movement is stopped when the magnetic head 2 corresponds to the required information record track 1a.
