Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized sonde device which has excellent sealing characteristics by detachably connecting a measurement lance, which is inserted into and extracted from a furnace, to a driving lance, and then arranging a driver body in parallel to the lances. CONSTITUTION:While a driving lance 9 is clamped by a holder 21 and a chuck 19 by turns, a driving cylinder 18 is operated and while the tip of a measurement lance 8 reaches an opening part 3, the driving lance 9 is clamped by a chuck 19 at a final end position. Then, the driving cylinder 18 is operated to insert the measurement lance 8 into a furnace 2 by prescribed length, and measurement is started. Since a sealing mechanism 7 is on the driving lance 9 which is not inserted into the furnace all the time, invariably excellent sealing characteristics are secured. The driving cylinder 18 is arranged in parallel to the lances, it does not take up much room. The measurement lance 8 and driving lance 9 are attachable to and detachable from each other, so the measurement lance 9 which is disabled to be used owing to deformation is disconnected while placed in the furnace.
