Abstract
PURPOSE:To make distinct color discrimination for resembling color groups possible by providing a variable wavelength filter in an optical path, and selecting the respective component peak wavelengths and half-amplitude levels of three color components arbitrarily thereby segmenting the distrubutions of narrow wavelength ranges. CONSTITUTION:A variable wavelength filter is provided to an optical path, and the respective component peak wavelengths and half-amplitude widths of three color components are selected arbitrarily with this filter, whereby colors are separated. For example, the light irradiated from a light source 1 is reflected by a detection object 2, and is put into a photodetector 4 via a variable wavelength filter 3. The filter 3 changes the selection wavelength of the light transmitted therethrough according to the change in the signal frequency of the AC voltage to be applied thereto by a driving circuit 5. When the color distributions of the detection object are concentrated in a narrow range, three peaak densitives are concentrated within a narrow range and the half amplitude levels are selected at narrow wavelengths.
