Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of operation that a workpiece is grabbed and conveyed from one side to another, by providing a plurality of chucks on a side of a rotary disc loosely fitted on the shaft of a fixed cam and by causing sliding rods to slide on the fixed cam to open and close the chucks. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 12 is grabbed at the outlet port of an introduction chute 11 by a conveyor A. After desired processing is effected on the workpiece 12 on its way of conveyance, the conveyor A is driven to carry the workpiece to a conveyance chute 15. The conveyor A has a fixed cam 16. A rotary disc 17 is loosely fitted on the shaft of the cam 16. Eight chucks 24 are provided at equal intervals on a side of the disc 17. In each chuck 24, a sliding rod 18 provided with a roller 19 located on the inner end of the rod and engaged with the cam 16 is supported by a guide 21 so that the rod can slide. A pair of claws 25 are swung about pins 26 by the sliding action of the rod 18 to grab the workpiece 12.
