Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the DC withstand voltage of a thyristor bulb by providing equalizing conductors and voltage dividing impedances connected to the conductors at an insulation supporting material having long insulation, thereby eliminating saturation phenomenon of the discharge voltage at a gap. CONSTITUTION:A thyristor module 2 is insulated and supported by an insulating post 3, equalizing conductors 6, 8 are disposed between the shield 4 and the base 9, arms 11-1-11-4 are secured, and voltage dividing impedances 10-1-10-3 made of resistors and capacitors are provided via the arms 11-1-11-4 in parallel with the post 7 and wind body 5. In this manner, the applied voltage is divided by the equalizing conductors, the shared voltage of the insulating member becomes 1/3, and the withstand voltage can be improved as compared with the case that the saturation of the withstand voltage occurs without the voltage dividing circuit.
